Junior & Senior High School Profile

Community:            Maranatha Christian Center is a comprehensive campus representing a toddler center, child care, elementary school, and junior/senior high school. We are located in the Denver metro area suburban community of Arvada, in Jefferson County.

 

School:                       MCC was founded in 1979 on a unique farm campus.  We are located on 18 beautiful acres, and have 57,000 square feet of classroom and office space, as well as a new 14,000 square foot Student Center. We have 425 students including approximately 150 students in the 6th-12th grades. Our Junior High school includes students in grades 6 - 8 and our Senior High school includes students in grades 9 - 12.

Graduation

Requirements:      28 credits are required in grades 9-12 for the College-Prep Diploma:

                                        Math - 4, English - 4, Science - 3, Bible - 4, PE - 2,

                              Single Foreign Language - 2, Computer - 1, Electives - 4

 

Class Rank:        Based on cumulative grade point average.  Only Honors and Advanced Placement classes are weighted.  Remedial classes are labeled general on the transcript.  All classes meet five (5) times per week for 45 minutes per period. The carnegie unit of credit is issued each semester for transcript purposes.

Testing

Standards:           All students, grades K-12, are tested each school year using the Iowa Test of Basic Skills, with average scores profiled two to three years above the national average.

 

                              All students in 10th-12th grades take the PLAN, PSAT, and either the ACT or SAT tests respectively, yearly.  Our average ACT score for college-bound seniors is 26 and SAT score average is 1100.
